No. 15 WashU Women’s Golf Fourth at IWU Spring Invite

Bloomington, Ill., April 16, 2016 – The No. 15-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team fired an opening round 313 Saturday and sits in fourth place at the 2016 Illinois Wesleyan Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling in Bloomington, Ill.

In a field that features 21 teams, including five in the top-25, host Illinois Wesleyan shot an opening round 302 and holds a five-shot lead. Indiana Institute of Technology is second after a 307, while No. 11 DePauw University (312), WashU and Centre College (314) round out the top five.

Jessica Wibawa sits in a tie for 10th place after an opening round 76, the second lowest round of the season for the junior from Encino, Calif. Senior Connie Zhou is tied for 15th with a five-over 77.

Sophomore Erin Drolet and freshman Hanna Jia are tied for 28th after an 80, while senior Erin Lawrence rounded out the lineup with an 88 and is tied for 80th.

The final round of the IWU Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling will conclude with 18 holes Sunday beginning at 9 a.m.
