WUSTL Celebrates Successful Year with W Club Golf Scramble

St. Louis, Mo., June 17, 2014 — The Washington University in St. Louis Department of Athletics hosted the 22nd Annual W Club Golf Scramble Monday at Meadowbrook Country Club in Ballwin, Mo.

The 18-hole scramble and silent auction serves as a fundraiser to benefit all Washington U. student-athletes – a tradition that began in 1993 by Director of Athletics John Schael. Washington U. had 34 teams entered with a total of 136 participants.

The day of golf was capped off with a banquet and silent auction that celebrated the success of Washington University Athletics in the 2013-14 season. Washington U. also honored Schael, who is retiring June 30 after leading the Department of Athletics the past 36 years.

Entry fee was $325 per golfer, which included greens fees, golf cart, driving range, lunch, cocktails, dinner and awards. The festivities began at 10:30 a.m., with all proceeds benefiting Washington University's student-athlete programs.

The Washington University in St. Louis Department of Athletics would like to thank everyone who participated in the 22nd Annual W Club Golf Scramble, and look forward to seeing everyone Monday, June 15, 2015!
