Kalamazoo, Mich., Oct. 6, 2019 – The Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team wrapped up play at the 2019 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region Championships held Oct. 4-6 at Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Mich.
Junior Daniel Li's run through the singles bracket came to an end to eventual champion James Hooper of Case Western Reserve 6-4, 6-1 in the semifinals.
In doubles, senior Bernardo Neves and junior Benjamin van der Sman suffered an 8-6 loss to eventual champion Matthew Chen and Hopper of Case Western Reserve in the semis. Hopper swept both singles and doubles in his rookie season.
WashU opens the 2020 spring season on Monday, Jan. 20 vs. NCAA Division I Butler University at Creve Coeur Racquet Club.
