BEAR HEADLINES – The Washington University in St. Louis men's basketball team (14-10, 6-7 UAA) closes out regular-season play at the University of Chicago on Saturday, Feb. 27. Game time is set for 3 p.m. in the Windy City. The Bears are riding a four-game win streak, their second-longest of the season.

HOOKS ELEVATES PLAY – Junior forward Clinton Hooks averaged 23.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game and shot 59.3 percent (16-of-27) from the field with eight three-pointers in the two wins last weekend. He poured in a career-high 26 points on 4-of-5 three-point shooting and added seven rebounds in an 88-62 win at Brandeis Friday, and followed that up with 21 points on four three-pointers in a 71-70 victory at New York Sunday.

EDWARDS APPROACHING TOP-10 – Washington University head coach Mark Edwards picked up win No. 640 in a 88-62 win at Brandeis Friday in Waltham, Mass. Edwards moved into sole possession of 12th place on the all-time NCAA Division III wins list with a 641-283 (.694) mark.

SCOUTING CHICAGO – The Maroons are tied for third place in the UAA standings with an 8-5 mark. Chicago has won its last two home games and are 7-2 at the Ratner Athletics Center. The Maroons rank first in the UAA in fewest personal fouls per game (17.1), scoring defense (65.2) and three-point field-goal percentage defense (29.8).

Senior guard Jordan Smith (12.9 ppg), senior forward Alex Voss (11.1 ppg) and junior forward Waller Perez (11.1 ppg) score in double figures for Chicago. Perez is fourth in the UAA in field-goal percentage (54.7), while Voss is fifth in rebounds per game (7.8).

Head coach Mike McGrath is in his 17th season as head coach of the Maroons. McGrath owns an overall record of 254-177 (.589). A three-time UAA Coach of the Year, he has guided UChicago to four NCAA Tournament appearances and four UAA titles.

SERIES NOTES – WashU leads the all-time series with Chicago, 48-20, and the Bears have won 13 of the last 19 meetings. Chicago won the conference opener 70-69 on Jan. 9 in St. Louis. The two teams have split the last four meetings in the Windy City.
