Basketball to Host Cancer Prevention & Awareness Games Sunday

St. Louis, Mo., Feb. 19, 2015 – The Washington University in St. Louis basketball teams will host Cancer Prevention & Awareness Day Sunday, Feb. 22, when they take on Brandeis University in a University Athletic Association (UAA) doubleheader at the WU Field House. The men’s game begins at Noon, followed by the women’s game at 2 p.m.

The theme for the day is “Hope. Fight. Cure.” The men’s and women’s basketball teams will be wearing pink shirts, and fans are also encouraged to wear pink to show their support. There will be T-shirts and other prizes awarded as giveaways for the crowd throughout the day. A representative from Washington University’s Siteman Cancer Center will also be present to share a message at each game.

The WashU women’s basketball team is currently 20-2 overall and ranked No. 9 in NCAA Division III, while the men’s team is 17-5 and ranked No. 20. Admission to all WashU basketball games is free.
